Broadband Light (BBL) Benefits for Ageless, Radiant Skin
Broadband Light (BBL) therapy is a remarkable approach to skin rejuvenation, utilizing the power of light to effectively treat a wide range of skin conditions. This non-invasive treatment enhances skin tone, texture, and overall health, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a youthful and vibrant complexion. BBL’s versatility and minimal downtime make it a popular option for patients looking to revitalize their skin without extensive procedures.
Our Achievements
Broadband Light energy can be used to treat age spots, small facial veins (telangiectasias), solar lentigines (freckles), brown spots, and poikiloderma.
About Broadband Light
The light energy delivered by the BBL™ will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, Drs. Agarwal, Maloney, and Holmes will use this photothermal energy to target the fine vessels and unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.
The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, upper chest, back of the hands, and arms. On average, two treatments spaced 3 weeks apart are necessary to produce the desired results. You may benefit from additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition. Maintenance treatments are beneficial annually.
The BBL™ treatment is non-invasive and safe. Topical anesthesia is beneficial, and there is minimal down-time. If the treatment is for brown spots, the spots will initially darken over 24 hours, before speckling and falling off 1-2 weeks later. If the treatment is for capillaries, there is initial facial swelling for 3-4 days and possible mild bruising. Because the epidermal skin barrier is left intact, you can return to work and apply makeup right away. It is important to avoid direct sun exposure throughout the treatment/recovery period.

Broadband Light FAQs
Broadband Light (BBL) is versatile, effectively treating a range of skin issues like age spots, sun damage, capillaries related to rosacea, and uneven skin texture. It’s also used for managing small blood vessels visible on the skin.
BBL uses intense pulsed light to target specific skin concerns. The light energy gently heats the upper layers of your skin, stimulating skin cells to regenerate. This process improves skin tone and texture, blemishes, and the appearance of capillaries.
The results of BBL can last for several months to years, depending on your skin type, the treated condition, and how you care for your skin post-treatment. Regular maintenance sessions can prolong the effects.
Yes, BBL can be combined with other cosmetic procedures for comprehensive skin rejuvenation. It’s often paired with treatments like Botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels for enhanced results.
