The role of computer imaging in facial plastic surgery as a valuable communication tool has been well established. Patient satisfaction with cosmetic surgery after computer imaging has been documented to be higher than in those atients who did not receive imaging. Drs. Agarwal and Maloney utilize this mode of communication to facilitate discussion about specific goals of the procedure.
At The Aesthetic Surgery Center, we offer our rhinoplasty and chin implant patients computer imaging – a chance to view a computer enhanced photo of themselves.
Does your physician use computer imaging to evaluate your needs?
Facial plastic surgery is a visual art form. At the Aesthetic Surgery Center, we have been performing computerized imaging and facial morphing since 1994. We find this to be a critical part of the patient/physician relationship which is extraordinarily valuable to you, the patient, in being able to envision the benefits and value of your options.
How can the imaging computer help?
At the time of your visit to the Aesthetic Surgery Center, you will meet our professional staff. Together we will discuss the surgery you desire and the results you wish to achieve.
A surgical counselor will take your picture and the image will be loaded into the computer. The system’s unique capabilities enable Dr. Agarwal and Dr. Maloney to sculpt changes on the computer as you watch, specifically for rhinoplasty and chin augmentation patients. Because you and the doctor do not have to rely on words alone in discussing the outcome of your surgery, communication is greatly enhanced. Our imaging system will assist you and Dr. Agarwal or Dr. Maloney in objectively deciding what is a realistic surgical goal – in light of cosmetic consideration and inherent limitations.
Once a computerized image has been attained that is cosmetically pleasing, the image will be used to encourage more communication between you and Dr. Agarwal or Dr. Maloney or Dr. Holmes as you develop a surgical plan. You may also want to share the photo with a friend or family member whose judgment you trust.
This service is provided for simulation purposes only and the enhanced digital images do not guarantee surgical results. Individual results may vary. Consult your physician regarding realistic results prior to undergoing any procedure.
