This low downtime facelift is ideal for those individuals with sagging tissues along the jawline and upper neck. The UpLift™ facelift differs from most of the other ‘mini-lifts’ because it is not simply a skin suspension procedure or a simple SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) suturing procedure. The UpLift Facelift involves complex neck reconstruction with a muscle reattachment procedure, fat excision if needed, deep neck contouring, as well as tightening of the support system of the face (the superficial musculoaponeurotic system or SMAS) while working in the deep plane. Incisions are hidden inside the ear, around the earlobe, and sometimes under the chin. The natural vertical direction of the lift of her underlying muscle layers is what gives the natural result of the UpLift™, avoiding any windswept look.

The UpLift Facelift FAQs
An individual consultation with one of our Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Agarwal, Dr. Maloney, or Dr. Holmes is the best way to determine which procedure is best suited to meet your goals. During this consultation, the surgeon will examine you, and demonstrate proposed changes using a 3 way mirror in our office.
There is no specific age to perform this procedure. There should be enough jawline and neck laxity to make it worth performing. Generally, the procedure can be performed on anyone ages 40 and up. Having the procedure performed earlier can give the procedure more longevity, as skin and deeper layers are thicker and more robust earlier in life. Plus you will have more years to enjoy the aesthetic benefits. During the procedure, the underlying deep tissue layer is strengthened, specifically along the jawline and upper neck. Anyone with looseness in this area is a candidate for the UpLift™️️.
Generally speaking, it takes one to two weeks for most of the swelling and any bruising to resolve. This can vary from individual to individual. Make-up can be applied within one week after The UpLift™.
Ultra-thin drains are usually used for two to three days post-operatively in order to reduce bruising and swelling. These are removed easily in the office.
You will need someone to help you for two days post-operatively. If a supportive friend or family member is not available, then home nursing can be arranged through our office.
This procedure is done with deep intravenous sedation at our state-of-the-art AAAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities) certified office surgical center.
