Dr. Holmes grew up in Sargent, Nebraska, a small town of 500 people. His summers were spent at an isolated fishing resort in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, which his family owned and operated for 20+ years. It was there that he met and developed relationships with physicians from Nebraska and the Mayo clinic. These relationships allowed Dr. Holmes to find his calling in medicine and desire to help people. While in college at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Dr. Holmes was a member of numerous honor societies and graduated with “highest distinction”, with a major in Biology and minors in Psychology, Chemistry and Spanish. Knowing that his future was in medicine, Dr. Holmes attended medical school at UNMC (University of Nebraska Medical College).
While at UNMC, Dr. Holmes was instantly drawn to surgery, particularly plastic surgery. The ability to change a patient’s self-image and improve a person’s self-confidence with a surgical procedure was what fascinated Dr. Holmes. Dr. Holmes matched into and completed a categorical general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.
While he was there, he also completed a prestigious 2-year research fellowship to set himself apart from other applicants to plastic surgery. Subsequently, he matched into an independent three-year plastic surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he had the privilege to training under many excellent mentors, including Dr. Martin Newman and Dr. David Friedman.
Dr. Holmes is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He trained in the full breadth of plastic surgery but specializes in aesthetic surgery. Dr. Holmes performs blepharoplasty, facelift surgery, neck rejuvenation, and reconstruction of the eyelids, nose, cheeks, and ears after skin cancer surgery. He has extensive experience in breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and body contouring, which includes liposuction, abdominoplasty (“tummy tuck”), and mommy makeovers.
Dr. Holmes’s philosophy is best summarized by his own statements: “I treat all of my patients like I treat my own family members. I want them to be happy with themselves and will work with their goals and desires to give them the best and safest results possible.”
In his spare time, Dr. Holmes enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, and being outdoors. Living and working in Naples allows Dr. Holmes to enjoy his passions, both personal and professional.
