Our Achievements
What is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC?
Made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found naturally in the human body, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is designed to fill and restore the cheek area. Volume loss can cause sagging and wrinkling that makes the face appear tired and aged. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC can restore this volume during a brief injection session with a plastic surgeon.
The JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC treatment is minimally invasive and very safe. Results, which include subtle lifting of the cheeks, improved cheek contour, restoration of temple and cheek volume, generally last 9 to 12 months. It is one of the longest-lasting fillers on the market and naturally breaks down over time, making it exceptionally safe.

Because the treatment provides instant, natural-looking results, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is a great choice for people with busy schedules who don’t want to undergo surgery. Touch-up treatments can be provided as needed to maintain results.
Where Can Voluma Injections Be Used?
There are many modern filler options on the market to choose from. Many of these formulas are designed to rejuvenate a specific area of the face, including JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC. Voluma was created to address deflation and volume loss in the cheeks. Our plastic surgeons also use JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC in the temples and jawline. There are many other injectables that can be used for other areas of the face.
How JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC Works
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that provides hydration and volume within the skin. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin begins to drop, causing the skin to become drier and to lose volume with age.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is a thick hyaluronic acid gel that instantly adds natural-looking volume to the areas it is injected in. Once injected into the cheeks, temples, or jawline,, the gel is suspended in the area and provides subtle, but noticeable rejuvenation.
The body slowly breaks down the gel over the next year or two, until it has all dissolved harmlessly and the treated areas revert to their original appearance. To maintain the benefits of the filler, treatments are usually repeated every year.

Ideal Candidates for JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC
Injectable fillers are ideal for people who are unable to undergo plastic surgery or simply want a non-invasive option for facial rejuvenation. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is FDA-approved and appropriate for healthy men and women over the age of 21 with age-related volume loss in the cheek area. Ideal candidates will have realistic expectations for the treatment.
Although hyaluronic acid fillers are extremely safe, they are not appropriate for everyone. Pregnant women will need to wait on the treatment as it has not been tested or approved for use during pregnancy. Those with an allergy to lidocaine should not get JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC treatments.
The JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC Treatment
Very little preparation is needed before a JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC treatment session. You may be asked to avoid some over-the-counter pain relievers in the week prior to treatment. It is best to avoid alcohol for a few days before and after your appointment.
Before the treatment begins, your skin will be cleaned to prevent infection. Your doctor will go over the procedure and make sure you are comfortable before beginning the injection process. You may request a topical numbing cream to increase your comfort, although the filler does contain lidocaine, a common local anesthetic.
During the treatment, the doctor will carefully inject JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC into the areas of facial volume loss. It is a thick gel that will immediately restore volume to the area. You can see the results right away and notice a refreshed, youthful appearance.
