Blepharoplasty Before and After Photos

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, refers to surgery to improve the appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids. This can involve removal of excess skin by surgical incisions or by laser resurfacing, removal of eyelid fat pads, addition of fat to the eyelids for hollowing, fat repositioning, muscle tightening, lifting of droopy eyelids, and improvement of malar mounds and festoons.
Because of the delicate nature of the eyelid area, eyelid surgery requires finesse, attention to detail, and precision. Our surgeons perform blepharoplasty procedures frequently, and they are some of the most common facial plastic surgical procedures performed in our practice.
Lasers are commonly used to make eyelid incisions with precision and minimal bleeding, which translates into less bleeding. Meticulous attention is given to minimize scarring and to follow the natural curvature of the eyelids to hide incisions. Almost all procedures are performed in our AAAASF certified facility with intravenous sedation, but sometimes in the office with local anesthesia for the appropriate patient. For most procedures, initial bruising and swelling is at its peak for the first 2 weeks post-operatively.
In our blepharoplasty photo gallery, you will see examples of our patients who have had upper and/or lower eyelid surgical rejuvenation. You will also see many more examples in our Endoscopic Facelift gallery and UpliftTM gallery, as those patients have often had eyelid blepharoplasty in conjunction with some form of facelift surgery. The eyes are a focal point of the face and our goal is to convey a refreshed and rested appearance that highlights the natural beauty of one’s eyes.
